Married to Gillian (nee Coates)

Retired. Was Service manager for Anglia Distribution (sales and repairs of pressure washers, sand blasters, chemicals etc) Before that worked for his father E.G. Ashwell, Grist Miller of Earl Soham (uncle John Ashwell was Earl Soham baker)
He did his National Service in the Army from 1953 to 1956 serving some of the time in Germany
Interests…. Framlingham Amateur Dramatic Society was chairman for 30 years and active acting member, still member but just attends weekly meeting and helps front of house during shows. Cars (hence photo beside Sunbeam Talbot, he once owned one, also when very young owned a BMW Fraser Nash)
For 20 plus years David was PA for the Gala
He now belongs to the Framlingham College swimming Club, using the gym three mornings a week and swimming five mornings a week
Wife, Gillian was eldest daughter of Charles Coates who was baker for Reeds Bakery in Framlingham for many years. Gillian is one of six girls
David has four siblings, Michael the eldest, sister Mary and two younger brother, one who’s family lives in New Zealand
David and Gillian have three daughters and seven grandchildren, Wendy, eldest daughter lives in Framlingham and is a TA at the Junior School, daughters Joanne and Samantha and families live in USA, one in Maryland (married to an American) and one in California (Scottish husband who’s job is in USA)
We have visited New Zealand and USA on numerous occasions
